TILT
Tilt transforms and reduces direct food waste emissions of urban dwellers through a beginner’s personal and sustainable indoor hydroponic farming system.
Tilt utilizes a passive and low maintenance system to deliver water and nutrients to the growing plants. There are no pumps, cords, or electricity needed to maintain and the startup responsibility is minimal.
On the left is a full scale proof of concept model. Pipes are welded into shape and frosted acrylic sheets are formed around 3D printed internal plant holders. Step by step instructions can be seen below for user instructions.
Conceptual renderings on the right show the supplementary elements of the Tilt system necessary for use. Shown are plant pods, a seed starter case, and a app with instructions.
A working website depicts the user’s journey of selecting their desired layout for purchase.

Multiple hanging strategies and wall interaction concepts were investigated through sketching.
